ADVOCACY

Since our founding, KAN-WIN has worked with the Chicago community to join the global “comfort women” movement for justice. Annual events include our Global Action Day and the #ComeSitWithHer performance, in which we invite Chicagoans to sit with the Sonyeosang (“Girl Statue” aka the “Peace Monument”), and march with us to deliver survivor demands to the Consulate-General of Japan.

In addition to hosting film screenings and art exhibits, we lead educational workshops and panel discussions. We are committed to creatively and critically engaging our community with this important history and movement. Please reach out for opportunities to collaborate!
